Training & Professional Development

Jogo Behaviour Support

Our training and professional development is research informed and practice based

It draws on our extensive experience of working directly with children, families, schools and professionals.

Developing confident staff and strengthening inclusive practice

Supporting children with increasingly diverse needs requires more than a collection of strategies. Staff need opportunities to understand what may be influencing a child's behaviour, development, relationships and ability to engage in school, alongside practical approaches they can use in everyday practice.

Our training and professional development is research informed and practice based, drawing on our extensive experience of working directly with children, families, schools and professionals.

We work with schools to provide training that is relevant to their children, their staff and the challenges they are experiencing.

Training that makes a difference in practice

Rather than simply delivering information, our aim is to help staff make sense of what they are seeing and consider what they can do differently.

Training can support schools to:

  • develop greater understanding of behaviour and the needs underlying it
  • strengthen inclusive classroom practice
  • increase staff confidence in supporting children with SEMH, neurodivergent and additional needs
  • develop relational and trauma informed approaches
  • support teaching assistants and other key adults to use their role effectively
  • create greater consistency across teams
  • translate theory into practical approaches that can be used in school

Areas of training

We offer a range of professional development opportunities that can be delivered in school or online.

Not sure what training your school needs?

Sometimes the starting point is not choosing a course.

Schools may know that staff need additional support but be less certain about where training would have the greatest impact.

We can work alongside leaders to identify priorities, consider current challenges and develop professional learning around the needs of the school.

That might involve a single training session, a programme of professional development or training alongside wider SEN and inclusion support.
