Tracy is a highly experienced early years specialist with nearly four decades of practice across education, leadership, and consultancy.
She has worked directly with children and families since 1986 and has held senior leadership roles, including Assistant Head, Deputy Head and Joint Head within integrated early years provision.
Alongside her leadership experience, Tracy has lectured adult learners undertaking early years qualifications and continues to combine her work within a Local Authority with her role as an independent early years consultant.
Tracy brings a depth of knowledge and reflective practice to her work, with a particular interest in understanding children whose needs may feel complex or difficult to interpret. Her approach supports adults to look beyond behaviour, considering the child’s emotional world, relationships, and lived experience within their environment.
She has undertaken advanced training in emotional development, including both the Emotional Roots of Learning and Advanced Emotional Roots of Learning programmes through the Northern School of Psychotherapy. This has deepened her understanding of relational patterns, emotional development, and the psychoanalytic frameworks that can underpin children’s behaviour and capacity to engage in learning.
Tracy is passionate about championing the voice of the youngest children, particularly those who may not yet have the words to express their needs. Through her work, she supports practitioners to think more deeply, reflect more confidently, and respond in ways that meaningfully support each child.
