What if Everybody Did That? - by Ellen Javernick
This story book is aimed at 5-8 year olds and provides an understanding why we cannot do certain things. The book explores what would happen if everybody broke the rules. Each page examines a different everyday rule and then shows what would happen if everyone broke the rule. The images and text provide a simple and clear approach to teaching children to manage their impulses and to understand why rules are necessary. It is written for an American audience, but the messages are the same in any society. A handy little book to have on the bookshelf.
This book could be used at the beginning of a term to reinforce the classroom rules. A creative activity could be undertaken about what would happen if they broke the classroom rules.
