Book Recommendation

The Whole Spectrum of Social, Motor and Sensory Games
Barbara Sher

This book is an excellent resource for activities to undertake with children. The book has an emphasis about working with children and young people who are on the autistic spectrum or experience sensory processing difficulties. However, this book is a useful addition for anyone working or caring for children and young people.

There is an increasing awareness of sensory processing difficulties and this book gives you a clear understanding of sensory processing difficulties whilst providing practical activities to support and address the difficulties. The book is full of games and activities that can be undertaken in groups, classrooms, large play areas or one to one interactions.

The book provides clear directions, goals, variations and modifications for each activity. Another useful element is with each activity comes the potential learning points for the children. It is easily accessible and quick source book.

It mainly caters for nursery and primary age children; however the activities can be adapted to meet the needs of older children. It is a must for home or school book shelf.
